Altadis U.S.A. is commemorating the 90th anniversary of the iconic Montecristo brand with an exclusive release that blends tradition and luxury. Set to debut on August 30 at Casa de Montecristo stores, the new Montecristo 90th Anniversary cigars feature Nicaraguan tobaccos sourced from the Plasencia family’s farms in Estelí, Condega, Jalapa, and Ometepe. Wrapped in a premium Jalapa leaf, the line includes two vitolas: the No. 2 (6 1/8 x 52) priced at $40, and the Nacional (5 1/2 x 56) at $38.75—both offered in 12-count boxes.
Adding to the celebration is a limited-edition humidor set, priced at $15,000 and limited to just 35 units. Each includes 18 cigars, a Paris-made B.R.M. Chronographes watch with a bronze skeleton dial, a built-in watch winder, and custom gaming accessories like poker chips, playing cards, dice, and a bespoke “Last Chip” card. This marks the second collaboration between Altadis and the luxury watchmaker.
Originally founded in Cuba in 1935, Montecristo’s legacy has evolved globally since its post-revolution relocation to the Dominican Republic. The 90th Anniversary release not only pays tribute to this storied past but also marks a new chapter in the brand’s enduring prestige, with a series of celebratory events scheduled from August through October.
