Selected Tobacco has introduced a new high-end cigar line called "Nelson", created in honor of the Alfonso family’s legacy. This limited edition collection is crafted with collectors in mind and highlights both artistry and tradition.
The blend includes an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper, complemented by an Ecuadorian binder and a mix of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Peru. Rolled in Costa Rica, the cigars are then matured in Spain through the brand’s distinctive aging technique.
The debut cigar is a toro size measuring 6 x 54, known as "Ilustre", and it comes packaged in an upscale gift set. This set features five cigars encased in aluminum tubes and includes a custom ashtray designed by Nelson Alfonso. It’s priced at $160. While the company has announced that shipments to retailers are ready, there is no word yet on how many sets will be produced or if alternative packaging will follow.
